Walk from Logba Tota to Logba Alakpeti

Description: a steeply descending, very scenic, well-used path between the villages avoids the lorry road and takes a direct line from the mountain village of Logba Tota to the Logba Alakpeti village on the main Hohoe to Accra trunk road. The path drops around 1,500 feet (400 metres) descent in just over three miles, and offers superb scenic views over the Volta River and lake on a clear day. Taking around an hour to descend, but estimate two hours uphill with a full pack, more if you aren't very fit or if it is hot. A taxi from the main road bus stop to Logba Tota costs around Cedis 75,000 fixed price either way (£4) - so the taxi is much better value used uphill !

The popular Tafi Atome sacred monkey sanctuary is about 90 minutes on foot from Logba Alakpeti, or can be reached by taxi. There are a number of other local attractions within easy reach, and the village itself is very picturesque and friendly.
