"The legal test to determine if a retailer has met its duties under the DDA is the same whether the retailer is a national, multi-store business or a small, family run corner shop. The Act does take into account the level of financial resources available to each retailer when determining what steps it is reasonable for a retailer to have to take. As such, a large multi-store retail chain could be considered to be more likely to fund physical adjustments to its premises, to provide better access to its customers and may have to do more to meet its statutory obligations than a small retailer".
