I bought my new GW home in April 2005 and I wish I had never heard of
them. My sister and I bought houses on the same development. We both had
the same experience. The sales office were initially brilliant however,
we had problems selling our old home - to cut a long story short I
mentioned in her presence that I may consider a buy to let on my old
home - 2 days later I received a phone call from their Mortgage Advisors
to ...

SERIOUS GREAT THINGS TO COME.... THEY ALL TURNED OUT TO BE UNTRUE. WE
WAS PROMISED A SUPERB AND SUPERIOR FINISH BY OUR SALES AGENT. SHE TURNED
OUT TO BE PROMISING ANYTHING UNDER THE SUN TO GET US TO SIGN UP AND BUY
AN APARTMENT. SHE DESERVES A OSCAR FOR HER PERFORMANCE, A YOUNG AFFLUENT

I have lived in my GW home in Leeds for nearly 12 months, I found the
sales staff most knowledgable, they ensured i knew everything about the
development (including the negative things like a sub-station nearby my
desired plot)they even told me the carpet would have a joint in it
because the room is 5m wide and the carpet we like only came in 4m
widths. The Site Manager was/is very helpful, and even made sure that a
couple of ...

Having now owned a new 4 bed George Wimpey home for 16 months I can
honestly say there customer care is disgraceful!! The site manager has
lied to us from the day we moved in. Our home is still treated like part
of the building site with foul mouthed brickies slagging off the
workmanship on the exterior walls of our new home while repairing the 1
metre square of loose brickwork on both of our rear bay ...

Couldn?t agree more about atrocious after sales service. It?s taken
almost 2 years for all our complaints to be resolved, there is no
proactivity, no courtesy follow ups, on the part of George Wimpey. Our
problems included ·Contract cleaners didn?t carry out any cleaning
before we moved in. Our cloakroom was used as a store cupboard for the
first 3 months because it was so filthy. ·Loose brickwork in a ...

George Wimpey are a large national housebuilder with an extremely poor
standard of after-sales care. George Wimpey are winner of the BBC "UK's

Congleton, Cheshire. (The Ridgewood development). Some of the customers
are so angry and fed up with George Wimpey's ...

George Wimpey Homes : Beware George Wimpey by Nitin Patel - written on 15.12.06 - Rating:
Extremely poor customer service. Despite reading vast amounts of
criticism of George Wimpey on the internet, I bought a house in June
2006. Assuming they must represent either a minority of their work or
being relatively old reports, I am now unfortunately in a similar
position to thousands of other people (or so it would seem), and I would
strongly advise any prospective buyers to steer well clear of this ...

settlement cracks which are covered under guarantee with the NHBC and
work is due to be carried out. We have tried to sell our house but
cannot do anything untill the work has been completed. The work was
meant to be done at the start of the summer....... then the start of
September........... ...
