This Fire Station is operated by Strathclyde Fire Brigade personnel from the local community, by means of a retaining annual fee.
Kilsyth provides fire cover to the villages of Banton, Kelvinhead and Queenzieburn.
Housing is a mix of private/public sector, pre/post war houses and flats up to four storeys in height, with areas of two storey housing throughout.
Outwith the urban areas industry is predominantly agriculture.
