Website traffic and sponsorship fee schedule

This report contains overall statistics for www.paperclip.org.uk and its many sub-directories and micro-sites. Between May 2005 and March 2007, the average number of pages viewed per day increased from 180 to 1258.

Over the next year we can confidently predict that well over 500,000 pages will be viewed by well over 200,000 visitors. For the future - the only way is up, so this is a good time to make a shrewd three-year advertising investment.

It is certain that the level of interest in the website will increase significantly in the next two to three years as more content is added and updated and more residents go online. Our new fee schedule for targeted headline banner adverts is an estimated 1p per page view - (compare that with the real cost of printing and distributing flyers or business cards or advertising on Google)

News: In January 2007 we had our busiest month ever, with over 34,000 page downloads, so the actual cost per hit is likely to be under 1p as traffic increases.

Another 850 pages receive up to 6000 page downloads a year - still potentially very valuable, especially for specialist interests.
 
 

Comment and advice to sponsors: 

There are two main reasons for sponsoring a page on this site. The first is to generate new leads and raise awareness of your activities and website. The second is to promote your image as a caring organisation which wishes to put something back into the community.

However, the point for prospective advertisers to note is that your banner or webpage will only convert to sales if there is a clear link between the likely reader profile of the page and the products that you are hoping to sell. Readers find our pages because they have a pre-defined interest either in West - Central Scotland or in a service provided by a local company which happens to be based here - we already help to sell hand-made saddles to Canada, books to New Zealand, and African drums to the USA! The more clearly defined and unique your product is, the easier it is for us to help you find your worldwide and local markets. For example, it would be much easier to sell "traditional hand made Scottish christening shawls" than "men's underpants!".

Obvious links of interest are in areas such as, for example local hotel enquiries  - potentially sponsoring this page could bring your hotel several bookings a month if your banner is clearly visible and the offering sufficiently attractive. (why not use the banner to offer an off-peak discount or gift on production of the printout for example?)

In terms of sponsorship for the three year period April  2006 - April 2009, the guide price for sponsors is:

1. Dedicated page of your own with relevant links and photos: you write the text, we post it from £50 per annum .

2. Fee schedule for headline banner adverts:  roughly 50p per 100 page downloads: that's just a 0.5p a hit   - based on March 2007 figures above - minimum three years - you pick your own page. All other adverts will be removed.

Other external services, e.g. Guest Map, Visitor Forum, Links, Classified Ads, etc - please make us an offer.

We reserve the right not to take certain kinds of adverts and to reduce or waive fees for local not-for-profits and small organisations which can demonstrate social benefit. We also welcome offers of "payment in kind" such as office supplies etc.
