Our

caving every month. see the
climbing and ski slideshow Recent donations – thanks
The Hilton In the Community
Foundation - customers and staff of the Hilton Glasgow Grosvenor raised over
£1000 - thanks! Last year the swimmers minibus and associated costs were funded by Kwik Fit Insurance Services www.Kwik-FitInsurance.com, who also supplied the team with T -shirts. Thanks! Emma Young raised £260 with a sponsored 10 K run. Also the staff and customers of Greenock Telegraph, PO Box 12, Greenock who recently handed in their collecting tin with £51.71p. Edward McKillop collected £40 from neighbours, pupils and teachers of his primary school, Caldercuilt primary, Glasgow, and thanks also - once again - to Amanda of the Hut Shop and her customers for their tremendous continuing support. Help please! We provide new parents right across the West of Scotland with information, advice and counselling following the birth of their child with Down's syndrome. We can also help with education issues, organise adventure holidays for young people, and run a theatre group “Ups and Downs” which helps the children and their friends to develop the confidence, artistic skills and ability to perform in front of the public. Our free social events are fairly legendary, from glitzy theatre trips to theme parks, we like to have fun! And many of our members are adults with DS who make a valued contribution to their own communities in all kinds of amazing ways, from paid employment through to independent living. Please help with a donation or as a volunteer – people with DS have the same dreams as everyone else, but they do have extra support needs and you can help them to achieve their full potential. We are not professional fundraisers just volunteers and we employ no staff, so every penny goes directly to support the children and adults with DS and their families.
Yours sincerely, Liz Kay, Branch Treasurer Do you have any good photos or stories to tell - why not send them in for publication? Many thanks to all our supporters and donors, including: Pupils and teachers of Caldercuilt Primary, Glasgow; Cowan Print of Kilsyth, Accenture Foundation, Rangers and Celtic football clubs, Bernard Curran, Adamson Trust, the Hut Shop, The Hilton In the Community Foundation, Asda Foundation Asda Motherwell, Williamwood Golf Club (Ladies section), Rolls Royce (East Kilbride), North British Hotels Trust, JTH Charitable Trust, Glasgow City Council, Templeton Goodwill Trust, Baldernock Primary School, Peter Miller (estate), Marks and Spencers, the Angel Bar, Glasgow, Royal Bank of Scotland, NHS staff at the Primary Care Division of Forth Valley Health Board, Jessie Carrity, Mary Wood, Clare Jones and many other individuals and organisations. |
