Monika thanked the people who have already paid their contributions. The membership stands at 36. A reminder was issued that contributions are now due.
The steering group are in the process of discussing final arrangements. Application for charity status should be approved soon.
Designer is awaiting information to progress the Vivarium website. When this is up and running this should aid recruitment of new members and generate interest. Hugh indicated that lack of progress in this and other areas in largely due to shortage of people prepared to take on these tasks.
Anne and Hugh will be attending a Conference in Harrogate on Housing for Older People in May. Hugh will be giving a presentation.
There is to be a meeting with Roseanne Cunningham at her constituency office in Perth and there have been letters of support from Menzies Campbell and Andrew Arbuckle following Anne’s contact with Malcolm Chisholm.
This event is to take place at Falkland Palace on 30th June – 2nd July. Small community groups can have stalls and this could provide a venue for a fundraiser for Vivarium.
It is proposed to have a weekend fundraiser on 15th – 16th July.
Saturday 11.00am – 5.00pm will cost £5.00 each }
Saturday 5.00pm – 11.00pm will cost £ 5.00 each } £ 10.00 for all day
Overnight camping will cost an extra £5.00.
A BBQ will be available and there will be musicians. (Participants to bring their own food and water). More information from Anne Pattullo. Marion, Irené and Anne to assist with planning and anyone else who can give time will be welcomed.
Anne has been in touch with Lesley Riddoch after seeing an article she had published and a meeting has been arranged. Lesley Riddoch is interested in co-housing and ‘older people looking after themselves’.
Beryl gave information about Jan Pieter Hoogma who is an advocate for the Dutch model of co-housing.
Application to the Lottery and Esme Fairbairn Trust have still to be submitted.
There will be a live radio broadcast on Monday 1st May from Lilacbank on Vivarium and co-housing.
There was a discussion on future venue’s for meetings due to costs involved in hiring halls.
