Our profile - your first choice for dental implants in Scotland
Niddrie Square Clinic is Scotland's first private specialist centre combining dentistry, implantology and facial plastic surgery. All practitioners working in the clinic are on specialist lists of the UK General Dental Council or the UK General Medical Council.

At Niddrie Square Clinic our professional team maintains a warm and friendly atmosphere in attractive and comfortable surroundings. We offer smile makeovers, tooth whitening, porcelain veneers, crowns and bridgework and facial plastic surgery.

Our equipment list is comprehensive and includes digital radiography, which substantially reduces radiation dosage, and a state of the art operating microscope which is linked to computer, digital camera and video.

Patients can be referred to Niddrie Square Clinic by dental and medical practitioners for advice or treatment.

With Consultant Anaesthetists as part of our team, we are able to provide treatment under sedation. The clinic is accredited by major medical health insurance companies.

Cases requiring general anaesthesia will be treated in Ross Hall Hospital.

"Almost all dental implants in use today are made from titanium or titanium alloy, materials that have been shown over many years to be well tolerated by bone. The terms ‘osseointegrated implants’ or ‘endosseous implants’ are widely used to describe dental implants that can develop and maintain a close union with bone in order to support replacement teeth." more

"During the last 30 years the use of dental implants has changed dentistry beyond recognition. Implants are no longer considered experim-ental and it is equally rare to come across situations where they cannot be used at all." more

Teaching

All of the specialists in Niddrie Square Clinic are involved in teaching at all levels.  This includes teaching of undergraduates in dentistry, training of future specialists in hospitals all over the West of Scotland and Glasgow University, general dental practitioners, and support staff (dental hygienists, technicians and nurses).

The clinic runs small group teaching seminars on a regular basis.  We also provide hands-on training in implantology and Cerec training seminars.  These activities will increase when we move to our new purpose built clinic in 2007 where we will have a dedicated seminar room with multimedia links to our operating areas.
